Preparation of Corrective/ Remedial Action Plans

A Corrective Action Plan (CAP) combines all of the elements from the previous project documents to formulate the remediation plan for the subject property.  The CAP will include the previous detailed site investigation.  The CAP will include the physical characteristics of the contaminants and the evaluation of the potential migration and breakdown capabilities of the contaminants.  The CAP will include the assessment of the toxicological affects upon the human health and the environment for the determination of the environmental risk.  During the process of developing the final CAP, Active Environmental will coordinate with the various agencies involved to implement the corrective action process. The CAP will include a review and evaluation of the available remediation options and their cost-effectiveness that would be suitable for the subject property.  As part of this, Active Environmental will utilize IDEMís Risk Integrated System of Closure (RISC) program if necessary. Active Environmental remediation expertise includes remediation system design and installation for the following technologies:

  • Chemical Oxidation
  • Soil Vapor Extraction
  • Pump and Treat
  • Air Sparging
  • Monitored Natural Attenuation
  • Soil Excavation and Disposal
  • In-Situ Air Sparging
  • Soil Bioventing and Ground water Biosparging

Once the CAP has been finalized, a pilot test will be performed, if applicable, to determine if the selected remediation technology will work at the site as designed in the CAP.  The results of the pilot test will be documented in a report prior to the final approval of the remediation system by our client.  Active Environmental will be responsible for all removal and restoration permits and site excavation planning.  Active Environmental will assist our client in obtaining required permits and permission to dispose of any contaminated materials associated with assessment and remediation projects. During the cleanup process, Active Environmental will provide personnel for daily inspection and oversight during the installation phase of the remediation system.  Active Environmental can also provide personnel for the operation and maintenance of the remediation system.
